I've been actively exploring the world with camera in hand
for over twenty-five years, initially to document my interest in
natural history and my myriad adventures. Inspired by a number
of evocative, but accidental, images from a trek in Nepal in
1991, my photographic interest quickly mushroomed into a passion.
Soon after, I was lucky enough to work with Art Wolfe on several
projects including a book entitled PHOTOGRAPHY OUTDOORS, published by
The Mountaineers.
Since then, I’ve combined artistic expression and
technical proficiency to make well-designed images,
using light, color, line, shape and form to create
strong compositions.
While I frequently travel, I work from my home on San Juan
Island, WA where I maintain a growing stock file of film and digital images.
I shoot primarily with Canon digital SLR equipment. In addition, I do
commercial photography on location and in my small studio. I can provide
digital files and fine art prints from my digital darkroom which includes a Minolta Elite 5400 slide scanner, a suite of software such as Photoshop
CS,
and an Epson 2200 printer.
